The Bucket List

On Saturday afternoon, my girlfriend Lindsay and I went out to see "The Bucket List" featuring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. I'm not sure who has seen it and who has not seen it but the theme of that movie intrigued me enough the discuss it a little bit. I don't want to get into the details too much so that I am not a plot spoiler, but the idea of a "bucket list" really caught my attention. I've started to think, even though I am only 16 years old, what do I want to accomplish in my life? What amazing or special things do I want to achieve? What is my bucket list? What do I want to do before I kick the bucket? I definately know I want to travel. Italy, Greece, Egypt, Sweden, New Orleans, California I want to go to all of those places and more. Being a huge baseball fan, I want to see my Blue Jays play against rivals, the Boston Red Sox in their home stadium, Fenway Park, it's the most legendary building in the MLB. I would also hope to meet some celebrities. I would love to meet a Prime Minister of our country someday, maybe not our current PM Steve Harper, as I am not exactly a member of his fanclub but it still would be a great opportunity. I want to meet Wayne Gretzky, perhaps our greatest hockey embassador. The Tragically Hip's Gord Downie is one of my favourite song writers, so he is also on my list. I want to see an absolutely epic concert. Before the end of my days I would love to see at least one of the great classic rock bands. Whether it's the Rolling Stones or Paul McCartney, I would love to see them, because they are among the last of an amazing era of music.
These are just a couple of ideas that I would have on my personal "bucket list". I would love to know what you would have on yours. Feel free to post a your ideas.

Hi Brad,

Your entry has got me thinking too. I think everyone should have goals they want to accomplish before their days are done. I know I would like to travel a bit too ; to all of the provinces of Canada for sure and perhaps some places farther a field. I would like to go on a mission trip someday too. We are so fortunate that I would like to help others who aren't as lucky. I guess I should keep thinking and probably record this somewhere so I don't forget in my old age.
I really like your blog and think it is a great way to express yourself on a variety of topics. I like the questions you have posed so far because they get me thinking.
Love Mom
